Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), warned of the widespread and systematic destruction of Palestinian homes in the West Bank.
According to Mehr, citing Al Jazeera, Lazzarini wrote in a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter): "Houses and other civilian infrastructure in the West Bank are being systematically demolished by the Zionist regime forces."
He stressed: “Just yesterday, the Israeli authorities issued an order to demolish 66 more buildings in the Jenin camp. Over the past two months, dozens of houses have been demolished in the camp and its surrounding areas.”
The UNRWA chief warned that continuing this process would increase the risk of long-term displacement of thousands of Palestinian refugees and would permanently change the face of the Jenin camp.
Lazzarini called for an immediate halt to these demolitions, saying: “The order to demolish Palestinian homes must not be implemented. These actions violate international law and pose a serious threat to regional stability.”
At the same time, Palestinian sources have reported that Israeli forces have increased their military operations in the northern West Bank, including in Jenin and Tulkarm, a move that has caused thousands of Palestinians to flee their homes.
Palestinian authorities and international human rights organizations have also repeatedly warned that these actions are part of the Israeli regime’s systematic policy of gradually annexing the West Bank to the occupied territories.
