Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, stated in this regard that the release of this American citizen was a sign of goodwill. He emphasized that the Islamic Emirate believes that dialogue, understanding and diplomacy can provide solutions to many existing issues and that the Emirate is ready to engage with all parties, especially the United States of America, based on mutual respect and common interests.
Meanwhile, Zakir Jalali, a senior official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, also referred to the visit of a delegation to Kabul led by the US President's Special Representative for Prisoners' Affairs. He considered the visit a new step in bilateral relations between Afghanistan and the United States, emphasizing that these talks demonstrate the willingness of both sides to discuss common issues.
Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US Presidential Representative for Afghanistan, is also a member of the delegation, which indicates the importance of the talks in the process of advancing relations.
Hamdullah Fitrat also referred to the end of the war in Afghanistan, adding that extremist groups such as ISIS have been suppressed. However, he emphasized that Afghanistan continues to face domestic and regional challenges.
Fitrat thanked the governments of the United Arab Emirates and Qatar for facilitating the process of negotiations between the Islamic Emirate and the United States. These countries have played a facilitating role in the process of improving relations between the two sides.
