Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, announced in an interview with Al-Arabiya news network that the Islamic Emirate is striving to have balanced economic and political relations with all countries, including the United States of America.

In this interview, he called on different countries of the world to establish political and economic relations with Afghanistan. Mujahid also stated that the Islamic Emirate is trying to resume diplomatic relations with the United States.

The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, while emphasizing the “principle of good neighborliness” and referring to the diplomatic and trade relations between Kabul and Tehran, said: “No threat will come to Iran from Afghan soil.” He also offered reassurances and called for a resolution of the refugee issue based on cooperation and mutual respect.

These statements come at a time when the Islamic Emirate recently released an American citizen who had been imprisoned in Afghanistan for more than two years after negotiations with Adam Boehler, the US Special Representative for Hostage Affairs, following a visit by a US delegation to Kabul.
