Signing of cooperation agreements worth more than $1.5 million to support small businesses in Afghanistan
The Afghan Ministry of Industry and Commerce signed cooperation agreements with 12 institutions worth more than $1.5 million with the aim of supporting and strengthening the small business sector.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Abdul Salam Jawad Akhundzada, spokesman for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, announced in an interview with AVA that Nooruddin Azizi, acting minister of the ministry, signed cooperation agreements with 12 institutions on Wednesday.

According to him, the acting minister of industry and commerce, while emphasizing the pragmatic policies of the Islamic Emirate in implementing projects, said at the ceremony: "This ministry has always tried to encourage you and expedite your work so that the required documents are signed as soon as possible." He also urged the institutions to prioritize refugees in presenting their proposals to project sponsors.

Based on these memorandums of understanding, 12 institutions will implement projects in the fields of capacity building, financing and income generation for families, clothing design and small business management training, increasing access to sustainable livelihood opportunities for returnees, carpet weaving and graphic design training for entrepreneurs, with a total value of $1,553,180 in 12 provinces of the country.

These projects will directly benefit 1,007 people in Kunduz, Logar, Faryab, Nangarhar, Kabul, Badakhshan, Bamyan, Herat and Takhar provinces.

This move by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is an important step towards supporting small businesses and creating job opportunities in Afghanistan.
