Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Alexey Orchuk told the Russian newspaper that despite many problems, Afghanistan has significant economic potential that is “waiting for Russia.” He added that the Islamic Emirate also has a positive attitude towards Russia and is interested in developing economic relations.
Orchuk emphasized that Russia has been in contact with the Islamic Emirate and that the Islamic Emirate wants to develop economic relations.
The Russian state-run RIA Novosti news agency previously reported that the Russian Supreme Court is scheduled to consider the request on April 17 to remove the Islamic Emirate from the list of banned groups.
In an interview with the Russian newspaper Izvestia published on Wednesday, March 10, the Russian deputy prime minister said that if the Russian Supreme Court agrees to the request, “better opportunities will open up for relations with Afghanistan.”
“We want Afghans to have a better life, and this will greatly affect Russian cooperation in the field of economic development and trade,” the Russian official said.
“This could help increase the logistical capacities that we are looking for,” Orchuk explained.
