Release and return of nearly 200 Afghan refugees from Pakistani prisons; Registration and post-entry assistance
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates announced that 192 Afghan refugees who were detained in different parts of Pakistan have returned to the country after being released from prisons.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Afghan refugees entered the country through the Spin Boldak border crossing in Kandahar province after being released from Pakistani prisons, the press office of the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the Spin Boldak border command, the men were arrested in different parts of Pakistan and held for between one and five days in prisons in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.

After arriving in the country, the migrants were registered at the relevant centers, examined and distributed basic humanitarian aid. They were then relocated to their original areas of residence.

According to official sources, more than 11,000 Afghan refugees have been deported from Pakistan in the past few days alone and entered Afghanistan through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Ghulam Khan and Angur-e-Ada checkpoints.

The number of returnees from Pakistan has risen to more than 550,000 since the second wave of deportation began earlier this year. Most of these people were living in Pakistan without access to basic services or legal residence documents and were forced to leave the country in difficult circumstances.
