Washington’s Dual Policies Are a Threat to Regional Security / America Never Dare to Engage in Military Confrontation with Iran
Following the increase in political and military tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran and the announcement of indirect talks in Oman, political and social experts in the country criticized Washington’s hostile approach towards countries in an interview with AVA, calling it a threat to regional security. Analysts emphasized that the United States is playing with regional security through its dual policies and bullying approaches towards independent countries, and that Washington wants to gain advantages in negotiations through media pressure, stressing that the country does not dare to engage in military confrontation with Iran.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Kabul: Simultaneously with the increase in political and military tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the possibility of indirect talks between the two countries in Oman, political and social experts in the country described America’s dual policies as a threat to regional security and Afghanistan’s neighboring countries in an interview with AVA.

Abdul Wahid Yousefi, an expert on political and social issues, says that reaching an agreement in the nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington is in the interests of Iran, the United States, and the countries of the region. According to him, the dual and contradictory policies of the United States, especially during the Donald Trump era, have turned this country into a lying and hegemonic state in the eyes of global public opinion.

Yousefi emphasizes that Iran has always been an independent and peace-loving country and has been ready for dialogue; but the United States has hindered the progress of the Islamic Republic by imposing various sanctions and political pressures.

He continues that the interventionist presence of the United States in the Middle East has endangered the security of the countries of the region and Afghanistan’s neighbors.

In his opinion, Washington’s war-mongering in Islamic countries such as Yemen and Palestine is a clear example of this hostile policy. He also emphasizes that this support has paved the way for more crimes in Palestine.

Meanwhile, Seyyed Jamaluddin Sadat, another social and political expert, strongly criticized US policies, saying: “America considers all countries its slaves and has always sought to plunder their resources. Today, it is also seeking to secure its own sinister interests by threatening and imposing sanctions on Iran.”

He emphasizes that Iran has never sought war, but America’s irrational demands are causing the negotiations to fail. Sadat described Washington’s recent actions as a kind of psychological warfare against Iran, saying: “America wants to gain concessions in negotiations through media pressure, but it will never have the courage to confront Iran militarily.”

He considered Iran’s military and defense power a feat and honor for Muslims and believes that America is aware of this power and is never willing to endanger its forces and bases in the region.

Sadat also referred to America’s past in Afghanistan and added: “The destruction of infrastructure and the killing of thousands of people in Afghanistan were the result of America’s occupation in the past two decades.”

He called on the United Nations and the international community to stand against the occupation and conspiracies of the United States, especially in Islamic countries, and to prevent the killing of innocent people by the Zionist regime with US support in Palestine.

These statements come at a time when the US President recently announced his readiness to start direct negotiations with Iran, but warned that if the negotiations fail, Iran will face a "great danger."

In contrast, Iran has emphasized that it is only willing to hold indirect talks through intermediaries such as Oman and will not surrender to any threats.

In this regard, an indirect meeting between US and Iranian representatives is scheduled to be held in Oman on Saturday. At the same time, the US Treasury Department has imposed new sanctions on Iran, and Donald Trump has threatened that "military force will be used if necessary," although he emphasized that "Israel will be on the front line, but America will make decisions for itself."

Meanwhile, reports have emerged that the US moved B-2 bombers to Diego Garcia in March, a move analysts say is intended to show its power and put more pressure on Tehran.

The Telegraph recently reported that Iran has warned that the Diego Garcia base in the Chagos Archipelago will be targeted if Britain cooperates with the US against Tehran.
