Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran reported that indirect talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States on the issue of lifting sanctions and the nuclear issue ended a few minutes ago.
According to the press release of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; “These talks, which were mediated by Oman, saw Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Steve Whittaker, the Special Representative of the President of the United States for the Middle East, exchange the positions of their respective governments on issues related to Iran’s peaceful nuclear program and the lifting of illegal sanctions against Iran in a constructive and respectful atmosphere through the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman.”
It was said that the parties agreed that these talks would continue next week.
It was also said that after the end of more than two and a half hours of indirect talks, the heads of the Iranian and American delegations talked for a few minutes in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman as they left the talks.
Meanwhile, the Axios website reported, citing an American official, that the US President had announced his readiness to offer concessions to Iran in order to reach an agreement. This report has increased the hope of reaching an agreement.
A member of the Iranian nuclear negotiating team also reported the positive atmosphere of the talks in an interview with the Tasnim news agency.
