US denies claims of control over Bagram Air Base
A US defense official denied reports that the US has taken control of Bagram Air Base and that a transport plane has flown to the area.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The AFP news agency reported, citing a US defense official, that the US has denied reports that the US has taken control of Bagram Air Base and that a transport plane has flown to the area.

Liz Lyon, director of public relations for the US Central Intelligence Agency, in a statement released on Friday, called the claims that Michael Ellis, the agency's deputy, was in Bagram false and emphasized: "The reports that Michael Ellis was in Bagram Air Base are not true."

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, also denied the claims related to the landing of a US military plane at Bagram Air Base and stated that the Islamic Emirate will not allow such actions.

Bagram Airfield, located in Parwan Province, was used as the main base for American and NATO forces in Afghanistan for two decades.
