Afghanistan, Russia discuss cooperation in tunnel and railway construction / Kabul delegation to Moscow soon
The Ministry of Public Works said the acting head of the ministry held talks with the Russian ambassador to Kabul on the repair of the Salang Tunnel, the construction of a new tunnel, the purchase of road and railway equipment and the preparation of railway lines in the country. A high-ranking delegation from the Ministry of Public Works is said to be traveling to Russia soon.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) has met with Russian Ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov and his delegation, the press office of the Ministry of Public Works said in a statement on Monday.
 
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Railways of the Ministry of Public Works and the two sides discussed several important issues, the statement said.
 
During the meeting, Mullah Mohammad Isa II, while welcoming the Russian ambassador, said that Afghanistan and Russia have long-standing trade and economic relations and thanked the country for its cooperation in various sectors in Afghanistan.
 
The Ministry of Public Works said the two sides also discussed the repair of the Salang Tunnel, the construction of a new tunnel and the purchase of road and railway equipment, machinery, equipment, preparation of railway lines and other issues.
 
The Russian ambassador to Afghanistan said that Russia is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in these areas.
 
The two sides emphasized economic and trade relations, and a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Public Works is scheduled to travel to Russia, the Ministry of Public Works said.
 
It is worth mentioning that Afghanistan's relations with Russia have expanded over the years.
