Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Afghan Red Crescent Society has announced in a press release that Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, General Director of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, met with Ahmad Suleiman, head of the International Federation of the Red Cross, and his accompanying delegation to discuss providing urgent humanitarian aid to returnees.
In this meeting, Mr. Delawar called on Red Cross officials to cooperate more with the Afghan Red Crescent in providing humanitarian aid to Afghan returnees.
The head of the International Federation of the Red Cross has also announced that it has allocated 100,000 Swiss francs to provide health services, temporary shelters, and volunteer services to the returnees, and another 150,000 Swiss francs will be sent in cash next week.
This comes as refugees who have recently returned from Pakistan and Iran face numerous problems, including a lack of basic living conditions, access to health services, and housing.
