Using all means to address deported refugees; Deputy Prime Minister’s Office emphasizes in meeting with Helmand Governor
Following the continued forced return of refugees from neighboring countries, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office has emphasized that the Islamic Emirate will use all available means to address their needs.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Press Office of the Prime Minister’s Office announced in a press release that Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, met and discussed with Maulvi Abdul Rahman Muslim Kunduzi, Governor of Helmand, on Tuesday (April 15).

In this meeting, the Governor of Helmand, while providing information about the general situation in the province, said that local authorities are working tirelessly to solve the problems of the people and provide the necessary services. He also referred to the situation of refugees deported from Pakistan and added that all local institutions in the province are busy providing services, providing shelter, and addressing this vulnerable group around the clock.

Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administration, also said in the meeting: “Addressing the problems of citizens and ensuring their comfort are among the duties and responsibilities of the Islamic Emirate, and it is necessary for local officials to make extra efforts in this regard.”

Referring to the situation of migrants who have been forcibly expelled from neighboring countries, he emphasized that providing services, transportation, and providing facilities for them is a religious and humanitarian responsibility, and the Islamic Emirate is using all available resources in this regard.

This is while the process of forcibly expelling Afghan migrants from Pakistan and Iran is still ongoing, and according to statistics from responsible institutions, thousands of people enter the country through official ports every day.

According to immigration experts, dealing with the expelled migrants cannot be solved with sympathetic words alone. The need for greater coordination between domestic institutions and increased assistance from the international community is crucial at this stage. Responsible institutions should develop more coherent, medium-term plans for resettlement, psychological support, education, and employment of these individuals, so that the migration crisis does not turn into a new social and security crisis within the country.
