Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock has announced in a press release that Maulavi Attaullah Omari, Acting Minister of the Ministry, led a high-ranking delegation during an official visit to Uzbekistan and visited one of the large factories producing modern irrigation technologies in Tashkent.
This factory produces equipment such as standard pipes, water pumps, drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, and soil improvement equipment, which, according to officials, play a significant role in optimizing water consumption and increasing soil quality.
The Acting Minister of Agriculture, while appreciating the cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, invited the company officials to invest in Afghanistan and to be in touch with the country's private sector. He emphasized that the Afghan government is ready for any cooperation in the modernization of agriculture.
The company officials, while welcoming the invitation, announced that they are ready to invest in various sectors of irrigation and water resources management in Afghanistan and provide modern technologies to Afghan farmers.
During this trip, the Afghan delegation also visited vegetable greenhouses, fruit orchards, and other agricultural facilities.
Agricultural experts believe that investment in modern irrigation systems can bring about a significant change in Afghan agriculture. In a situation where the water crisis is one of the main challenges of the country, the transfer of knowledge and modern equipment from neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan will not only increase agricultural productivity, but also prevent the wastage of water resources. According to experts, facilitating conditions for foreign investors, especially in the agricultural sector, requires stability, legal guarantees, and transparent policymaking from the government.
