Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-International Service: The German Foreign Ministry has announced that the necessary steps have been taken to transfer 2,600 Afghan citizens who were transferred to Pakistan after the fall of the country's previous government and the process of transferring them to German territory will begin soon.
The German newspaper Bild reported, citing Foreign Ministry officials, that the country is committed to its commitments to Afghans who have previously left Afghanistan for reasons of cooperation with foreign institutions, embassies and international organizations and will not forget them.
This group of Afghan refugees was temporarily resettled in Pakistan as part of emergency evacuation programs after the Islamic Emirate returned to power, and after completing the administrative process, they were transferred to destination countries, including Germany.
Although voluntary admission programs have been reduced after the change of government in Germany, the Foreign Ministry has emphasized that these 2,600 people are part of previous commitments and their transfer process will continue.
In the past three years, the slowdown in the transfer process and political challenges have kept many of these refugees in limbo.
