Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-International Service: Continuing the US army’s airstrikes on Yemen, US warplanes bombed positions in the provinces of Hodeidah, Marib and Al-Jawf at least 22 times in the past 24 hours. These attacks not only targeted Ansarullah positions, but controversially also targeted residential areas of one of the tribes supporting the Saudi coalition.
According to the Islamic World Developments report, in Hodeidah province, Kamran Island was targeted; in Marib province, 15 airstrikes were carried out on the administrations of Raghwan and Mudghal and two more attacks were carried out on the administration of Al-Abdiyah; In Al-Jawf province, the areas of Al-Juhf and Al-Qadeer in Al-Hazm governorate were also bombed.
One of the most controversial parts of these attacks was the bombing of areas inhabited by the Al-Shaddadi tribe in Al-Abdiyah governorate. This tribe, a staunch opponent of Ansar Allah and a prominent supporter of the resigned Yemeni government and the Saudi coalition, played an active role in the battles south and west of Marib during the war. Abdul Rab Al-Shaddadi and Saif Al-Din Al-Shaddadi, prominent figures from this tribe, died in these clashes.
The attack, which in a way targeted former allies, is seen by observers as a sign of serious intelligence weakness on the ground in the Yemeni war. Many believe that this mistake could have wide political and military consequences for Washington in the region.
