Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Avoiding extreme optimism and pessimism regarding the talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States in Oman, Ayatollah Khamenei added: These talks may or may not reach a conclusion. We are neither extremely optimistic nor extremely pessimistic; this is a measure that has been decided and has been implemented well in the first steps.
He clarified: Of course, we are very pessimistic about the other side, but we are optimistic about our own capabilities.
Referring to the mistake made by Iran during the JCPOA era, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution warned the country’s officials against repeating it. He noted: During the JCPOA era, we conditioned the country and made everything dependent on the progress of negotiations. When an investor sees that the country is subject to negotiations, he will not invest.
Emphasizing the continuation of activities in the Islamic Republic of Iran in all industrial, economic, construction, cultural fields, and the implementation of major projects, Ayatollah Khamenei said: None of these issues are related to the Oman talks; the country’s activities to achieve goals in all fields must continue with greater urgency and nothing should be tied to the results of the negotiations.
He stated: The country’s decision to negotiate has been well done in the first steps, but after this, we must proceed carefully, while the red lines are completely clear for us and for the other side.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also called investment in production in Iran the best way to confront sanctions, adding: Lifting sanctions is not in our hands, but neutralizing sanctions is in our hands, and there are many ways and appropriate domestic capacities for this, and if this goal is achieved, the country will become invulnerable to sanctions.
In another part of his speech, referring to the crimes of the Zionist criminal gang in the attack on Gaza, Ayatollah Khamenei said: These crimes require extraordinary cruelty, which the occupying criminal group possesses.
He called the coordinated movement of the Islamic world in the economic, political and, if necessary, operational fields a serious need, adding: Of course, God will bring down His whip on these tyrants, but this does not diminish the heavy duties of governments and nations.
