Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, who traveled to Moscow today (Thursday) to meet and consult with Russian officials, told reporters upon his arrival in the country about the goals of this trip: There are several different goals. This was a trip that had been arranged in advance to present a written message from the Supreme Leader to the Russian President, and at the same time, it coincided with recent developments and indirect negotiations that took place.
He added: We have always had close consultations with our friends in Russia on the nuclear issue. From the past to now, we have exchanged views closely with both Russia and China and tried to adjust our positions. Now is the right time to do this with Russian officials.
Araghchi continued: Our bilateral relations encompass a variety of issues that are a topic of discussion every time we meet. Following up on existing economic and political projects that will be carried out, God willing.
He stated: The West Asian region, the continuing crimes of the Israeli regime, the threats that exist in the region, and the Ukraine issue will also be discussed and examined during this visit.
Regarding the ratification of the Iran-Russia strategic treaty by the Russian Duma, the Iranian Foreign Minister said: This is a very important treaty. It will enhance the level of our relations. Our relations have been and are strategic, and with this treaty, it will take on a regular and organized form. We are happy that it has gone through its stages in the Russian legislative assemblies and is also being passed in Iran.
He also said: The important indicator of this treaty is that it gives a long-term strategic view to our relations and guarantees a long-term perspective for the cooperation between the two countries. This creates confidence that these relations will not be affected by any factor. Issues that arise are consulted between us instead, but our view of relations with Russia is a long-term view.
Regarding the content of the message of the Leader of the Revolution to the Russian President, Araqchi said: It is natural that important international and regional developments and bilateral discussions have been mentioned in this message.
