Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Russian media announced that the decision was made to promote diplomacy and mutual understanding between Russia and the Islamic Emirate government. This change was made in particular in line with the country’s efforts to improve the security and economic situation in the region and cooperate with the new Afghan government.
Some time ago, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office had asked the Supreme Court to remove the Islamic Emirate from the list of terrorist organizations and allow authorities to establish more formal and operational relations with the Islamic Emirate. This request indicates a change in Russia’s attitude towards the Islamic Emirate and an effort for more active diplomacy in economic and social fields.
It is worth noting that in December 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law authorizing the removal of the Islamic Emirate from the list of terrorist organizations. This measure is part of Russia’s long-term plans to engage with Afghanistan and secure its national interests in the region.
With this decision, a new area of possible cooperation and interaction between Russia and the Afghan government will begin, which could lead to economic and security agreements that benefit both sides.
