Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: This Quranic institution has continued its activities in Herat city for fourteen years with public support, assistance from donors and influential religious and cultural figures.
According to officials, the meetings of this institution are held every week in different places, including private homes, with the enthusiastic presence of people, prominent reciters and cultural scholars, and this process has continued for years. Last night (27th of Ahal), in continuation of the series of weekly meetings, a gathering was held to mark the 14th anniversary of the establishment of this institution with the widespread presence of the public and national and international reciters.
Mohammad Nikkar, one of the founders of this institution, while referring to the regular holding of meetings, said: "Quranic meetings are held every week in a mosque in Herat, and this process has continued in a popular manner since its establishment." He added that from these meetings, young and adolescent reciters have been trained who have achieved significant success in national and international competitions.
Nikkar also stated that these meetings have developed over the past fourteen years, especially in terms of quality, and prominent reciters have participated in them.
Meanwhile, Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Rouhani, director of the Sadeghieh Seminary in Herat, emphasized that the continuation of these Quranic meetings is of great importance and said: "A person enlightens hearts with the Quran." He emphasized the training of young and adolescent reciters and their role in strengthening the Islamic spirit, adding that these sessions show the families’ willingness to learn the teachings of the Quran and should be continued with greater vigor.
Hojjatoleslam Rouhani emphasized that the Quran has a special place in the unity and solidarity of society, and the sustainability of this popular institution is only possible with the support of public support and people’s love for the Quran.
Hamidullah Azimi, one of the reciters of the Quran in Herat, also stated that familiarity with the Quran has many positive effects on individual and social life and brings many blessings to man. He added that the Quran has brought honor and respect to his life.
These Quranic programs, in addition to promoting people’s love and closeness to the Holy Book, have increased the interest of young and adolescent reciters in the Quran in Herat and fostered the training of internationally renowned reciters in this province.
