The Chinese Ministry of Commerce issued a statement today (Wednesday) in response to the US threat to impose a 245% tariff on Chinese goods, stating that this action shows that Washington has reached an irrational level in using tariffs as a trade weapon.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The statement of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce states: "China will not pay attention to the US's meaningless game with tariff figures, but if the US continues to violate Beijing's rights, China will definitely respond." This shows China's firm stance against US trade measures, especially in a situation where economic relations between the two countries are affected by trade tensions.

The US government, led by Donald Trump, has launched a tariff war against China in recent weeks and had previously threatened Beijing with a 245% tariff for what it called "retaliatory measures." The tariffs follow China’s decision to increase tariffs on U.S. goods to 125 percent.

Trump recently issued an executive order directing the Commerce Department to conduct a comprehensive national security investigation into rare earth imports. The order also provided details of the tariffs announced on April 12.

“As a result of China’s retaliatory actions, China is now facing a 245 percent tariff on imports into the United States,” the White House said in a statement. This comes despite Trump’s “America First” trade policy to restore the country’s greatness from the very beginning of his presidency.

In response to these tensions, China has escalated the trade war by increasing tariffs on U.S. goods to 125 percent, and Trump has increased tariffs on Chinese imports to 145 percent. At the same time, Trump has decided to suspend the imposition of tariffs on other countries for 90 days.

Given the current situation, it seems that trade tensions between the two countries will continue, and these disputes may also affect global trade and financial markets. The mutual reactions of China and the United States could greatly affect the international trade and economic environment.
