Pakistan Foreign Minister to visit Kabul tomorrow/ Focus on security, trade and strengthening bilateral ties
At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate and with the aim of expanding bilateral cooperation, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar will travel to Kabul tomorrow at the head of a high-ranking delegation. This is the second official visit by a Pakistani Foreign Minister to Afghanistan in the past three and a half years.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Kabul: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar is scheduled to visit Kabul tomorrow (Saturday, April 19) at the invitation of Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, at the head of a high-ranking diplomatic delegation.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on Friday, April 19, that Ishaq Dar will meet and hold talks with Prime Minister Muhammad Hassan Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdul Ghani Baradar, and Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi of the Islamic Emirate during this one-day visit.

According to the statement, the talks will cover a wide range of relations between the two countries and will focus on expanding cooperation in the areas of security, trade, regional ties and people-to-people ties.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry added that “this visit reflects Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening sustainable engagement with the brotherly country of Afghanistan.”

Ishaq Dar is the second Pakistani foreign minister to visit Afghanistan in the past three and a half years.

Before him, in 2021, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the foreign minister of the Imran Khan government, had visited Kabul.

Despite the historical relations between the Islamic Emirate and Pakistan, these relations have faced challenges over the past three years due to increasing insecurity in Pakistan, border tensions and the issue of Afghan refugees.
