Second round of indirect talks between Iran and the US began in Rome
The second round of indirect talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the US began in Rome today (Saturday, April 19).
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): These talks were held with the mediation of Muscat at the Omani Embassy in Rome.

This round of Iran-US talks, like the previous round, will be held indirectly, in writing and orally, with the mediation of the Omani Foreign Minister.

According to Iranian officials, non-nuclear issues, including defense capabilities and regional issues, have not and will not be the subject of the talks.

Dismantling Iran's nuclear infrastructure and capabilities will also not be the subject of the talks.

In the second round of talks, an attempt will be made to discuss and negotiate the general framework of the talks.

As in the first round of talks, which took place on Saturday, March 13, the Iranian delegation will be led by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, and the US delegation will be led by US Chief Negotiator Steve Whittock.

Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Esmail Baghaei, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Behzad Saberi, Advisor to the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, are among those accompanying Araqchi in this round of talks, as in the previous round.
