Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran said in an interview with "Russia Today": The Israeli regime has never been able to attack Iran in the past, is not now, and will not be in the future. Even with the support of the United States, they do not have the ability to carry out military operations against us.
He added: We have the ability to defend ourselves, even against the United States. The United States knows what capabilities Iran has to respond, and the Zionist regime is well aware of our defensive power and retaliatory ability.
Araghchi emphasized: Not only does Israel not dare to attack, but I think it is unlikely that the United States will also take the risk of such a dangerous adventure.
The Foreign Minister also said: There are major economic projects underway between us. The volume of trade between us has increased tremendously.
Regarding Iran-Russia relations, Araghchi said: We have designed our economic cooperation based on sanctions, so we are not waiting for the sanctions to be lifted, but rather we are expanding our relations under these conditions.
He added: Politically, our consultations are very close. We have common positions on many international issues and are constantly exchanging views. Of course, there are also differences of opinion, but in most cases our positions are in harmony.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also stated: My visit to Moscow before the second round of negotiations with the United States shows the seriousness of our relations with Russia. We do not forget our friends in difficult times. We stood by them in difficult times, and now it is natural to coordinate our positions with them.
Araghchi emphasized: We have proven in the past that we do not react to force, pressure, and threats, and that we resist. Perhaps the Americans wanted to test our resolve once again—but they have seen the results of this test themselves.
In response to the threats against Iran, he said: The Islamic Republic of Iran did not back down from any of its just and fair positions. We will not violate our dignity, honor, and national interests because of pressure.
Araghchi emphasized: Military threats are unlikely to be implemented, because even the Americans themselves know that Iran knows very well how to defend itself.
He noted: The path of diplomacy is open to us, but if negotiations lead to difficult and difficult conditions, we are fully prepared for other paths as well.
Iran currently has no ties with the current Syrian government
Araqchi stated that maintaining peace, tranquility and territorial integrity of Syria is of great importance to Iran and Russia, and said: This issue is vital for the stability of the region. Currently, Iran has no ties with the current Syrian government and there is no rush to establish such ties.
He added: We neither oppose the new Syrian government nor will we take any action against it. If Iran is ever asked for help, we are ready to help in the path of establishing peace and forming a legitimate and inclusive government in Syria.
Araqchi continued: We continue regional consultations and wait for Syria to achieve security, economic prosperity and national unity.
