Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met with the Pakistani delegation and exchanged views on various issues, including political and economic, especially the gradual and honorable return of Afghan refugees from Pakistan.
After meeting with the Pakistani Foreign Minister in Kabul, Muttaqi said at a press conference: “We hope that if the decisions taken in today’s meetings are implemented in practice, it will be a great help to the economy, politics, communications and other sectors.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, also announced that the two sides have reached an agreement to resolve the economic challenges between the two countries.
Regarding Afghan refugees, he said: “Four important decisions have been taken regarding the refugees. First, to return the refugees with dignity and respect. This is our religious duty, neighborliness and goodwill, and this is the government’s order. If there is a complaint, the Interior Minister is obliged to look into it.”
The one-day visit ended at a time when the forced deportation of Afghan refugees and Pakistan’s allegations of using Afghan soil against the country have affected relations between the two sides.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Ishaq Dar, in a joint meeting with Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, expressed hope that the exchanges between the two countries would continue at a high level.
