US forces leave Syria and deploy to Ain al-Assad base in Iraq
A security source in Anbar province in western Iraq announced the withdrawal of a large number of US troops from Syria and their deployment to Ain al-Assad base in Anbar.
Afghan Voice Agency (AWA): The source said: A large number of US forces evacuated one of their bases deep in Syria and deployed to Ain al-Assad base in the "Al-Baghdadi" area in the "Heet" region in western Anbar, Iraq.

The source clarified: No further details are available about the reasons for the withdrawal and deployment of these forces in Ain al-Assad.

An Iraqi source said: This military column includes military armored vehicles and military equipment along with soldiers and light and heavy weapons.

The source emphasized: At the same time as this large US military column withdrew from Syria, the country's air force provided air cover for this military column. Also, unprecedented security measures were implemented on the main and secondary roads leading to Ain al-Assad base.

The source stated: The Ain al-Assad base has recently witnessed extensive movements of American forces, and military forces and equipment have been airlifted to this base from Baghdad, the northern provinces, and Kuwait.

Yesterday, the US Department of Defense announced that it intends to reduce its military forces in Syria to 1,400 people. Earlier, a Zionist media outlet had reported Washington's decision to begin the process of gradually withdrawing American forces from Syria within the next two months.
