7th Kangaroo Competition held in Balkh with 1,100 students
The Balkh Province Private Schools Association launched the 7th Kangaroo Competition with 1,100 students, including girls and boys, in six groups from grades two to twelve in the province.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: Hojat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimin Sayed Ibrahim Mortazavi, head of the Balkh Province Private Schools Association, considered the launch of such competitions useful and effective for the development and encouragement of students, adding: The 7th Kangaroo Competition has been launched in this province, and the number of participants is increasing every year, and Balkh students have made good achievements in mathematics.

He stated that mathematics has been and is of great importance in human daily life, and the World Kangaroo Competition is actually a day to celebrate mathematics.

Hojatoleslam Mortazavi says: Launching Kangaroo Competitions is useful in improving students' self-confidence and helps them better understand mathematics.

The aforementioned added: 1,100 students from four government schools and 25 private schools in six groups from grades 2 to 12 participated in these competitions.

He said that holding the World Kangaroo Competition in Balkh Province has increased students' interest in mathematics and won about 400 gold medals and certificates of appreciation in the past year.

On the other hand, Maulvi Ghufran Hijrat, Deputy Director of Education of Balkh Province, added: Organizing and planning Kangaroo competitions is a positive and useful step in the direction of the growth and capacity of students.

He acknowledged that students and the young generation are the future builders of the country and they can demonstrate and showcase their scientific abilities in healthy competition.

Maulvi Hijrat emphasized the need for healthy education of students and said: Healthy education is superior to medicine, engineering and other sciences, therefore it is necessary for private school officials to pay attention to this area.

The mentioned person also emphasized self-knowledge, self-development, talent identification, daily schedule, short-term and long-term goals, success, continuous learning, learning technology, learning international languages, gaining experience, establishing communication, and managing students' time.

Meanwhile, a number of teachers and students of Balkh province welcomed the holding of the World Kangaroo Competition and said: The Kangaroo Competition is effective in motivating and growing students.

It is worth mentioning that the World Mathematics Competition under the title of Kangaroo is held in most countries of the world, and this competition is also launched in 24 provinces of the country.
