Pope Francis calls humanitarian situation in Gaza "tragic" and calls for immediate ceasefire

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to the AFP news agency, Pope Francis expressed his regret at the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza during the Mass and called for an immediate end to the hostilities.

 

The Pope's stance comes after the Zionist regime violated the ceasefire and resumed heavy attacks on the Gaza Strip. These attacks began after the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, which included the exchange of prisoners, and the suspension of the second phase under the pretext of Tel Aviv.

 

According to Fars, in addition to violating the ceasefire, the Zionist regime has also stopped sending humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza by obstructing the negotiations process. The recent attacks by the occupying army on residential areas, especially in central and southern Gaza, have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of civilians, especially women and children.

 

Palestinian sources have reported that the Zionist regime, by continuing its aggression, is trying to force the Palestinian resistance to retreat from its positions by applying field pressure.
