What happened at the Central Bank
In a public conference held at the initiative of the Central Bank of Afghanistan in the northern zone of the country, officials emphasized the development of Islamic banking, digitalization of financial services, and strengthening local economies. Sediqullah Khalid, First Deputy of the Central Bank, said that banking transactions in the country are carried out in accordance with Islamic Sharia and without interest.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Mazar-e-Sharif: The Central Bank of the country announced in a press release that a public conference was held in the northern zone on Sunday, April 21, with the aim of introducing financial services, strengthening local economies, and promoting Islamic banking.

At this meeting, Sediqullah Khalid, First Deputy of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, while emphasizing the growth of Islamic banking in the country, stated that all banking transactions are carried out based on the principles of Islamic Sharia and without interest.

He added that in the last three years, the value of the Afghan currency has been well maintained and important measures have been taken to stabilize the banking sector.

Khalid also mentioned the digitalization of payments, the development of electronic banking, the creation of a regulatory framework for microfinance, and the connection of banking systems to the Ministry of Finance, which, according to him, have facilitated the payment of salaries and increased financial transparency.

Maulvi Noor Al-Hadi Abu Idris, Deputy Governor of Balkh, also announced in the program the readiness of the local administration to comprehensively support the country's economic and financial programs.

In addition, Qalandar Rahimi, Advisor for International Relations of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce, and Fida Mohammad Faizan, General Manager of the Central Bank's Office, both praised the bank's actions and called for public participation in the development of the economic system.

Also, a three-day exhibition was held at the Mazar Hotel in Balkh Province to familiarize citizens with banking and financial services.
