The Donald Trump administration is drafting an executive order to fundamentally restructure the US State Department. The plan will include eliminating key offices such as special representatives for Iran, Afghanistan and Syria and restructuring the ministry based on regional delegations.
Afghan Voice  Agency (AVA): The administration of US President Donald Trump has prepared a new draft executive order for a broad restructuring of the country's State Department, which will eliminate key offices and influential positions such as special envoys for Afghanistan, Iran and Syria.

According to CNBC, the plan will fundamentally transform the structure of the US State Department and shift its focus from global issues such as human rights, women, climate change and international cooperation to simplifying diplomacy and regional priorities.

According to the current draft, offices related to human rights, women and girls, democracy, climate change, as well as cooperation with organizations such as the United Nations, will also be closed.

The new structure of the US State Department is to be formed based on four regional bureaus:

Eurasia Bureau: Europe, Russia and Central Asia

Middle East Bureau: Arab countries, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan

Latin America Bureau: Central, South America and the Caribbean

Indo-Pacific Bureau: East and Southeast Asia, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives

The plan also proposes closing some US embassies in sub-Saharan Africa, which could reduce Washington’s diplomatic presence on the continent.

Experts believe that these developments indicate a shift in the Trump administration’s focus towards a reduced focus on global issues and a greater focus on pragmatic and regional diplomacy.

These changes have sparked reactions from human rights defenders and women's rights groups.
