Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Alireza Nasiri Barazandeh, Director General of the Hormozgan Province Railways of Iran, announced the dispatch of the seventh sugar shipment to Afghanistan via rail and stated: With the continuous efforts of colleagues and close cooperation with relevant agencies, the volume of transit goods to neighboring countries has increased significantly.
According to him, including this shipment, a total of 84 wagons equivalent to 152 20-foot containers and 16 40-foot containers (4,810 tons of sugar) have been sent to Afghanistan from Shahid Rajaee Port so far. This indicates a significant growth in the volume of rail transit of sugar to Afghanistan.
According to Tasnim, the Director General of Hormozgan Railway pointed out the benefits of rail transportation, including reducing costs, increasing speed and safety, and reducing road traffic load, and emphasized the efforts of Iran’s Hormozgan Railway to develop rail capacities to strengthen the economy of the region and Iran.
In conclusion, he noted: Shahid Rajaee Port, as the largest commercial port in the country, plays an important and decisive role in the export and import of goods, and the development of rail lines connected to this port is an effective step towards improving Iran’s position in regional transit and strengthening economic relations with neighboring countries.
