Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In its statement, Hezbollah offered its sincere condolences on the death of Pope Francis to the Vatican, followers of the Catholic Church around the world, and all Christians, especially Lebanese Christians.
The statement said: Pope Francis believed in peace and wanted to abandon all wars. He worked with deep faith to sow the seeds of love and forgiveness, build bridges between religions, civilizations, and nations, and establish dialogue, understanding, and justice.
Hezbollah has referred to Pope Francis’ meetings with Islamic authorities in Najaf and Al-Azhar as a symbol of brotherhood and love. It has also praised his stances in condemning the Israeli attacks on Gaza, the Palestinian genocide, and supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese cause.
In the end, Hezbollah called on the Lebanese people to remember Pope Francis’ words that “Lebanon is a message of great meaning” and use it to confront the challenges and divisive efforts in the country.
