Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Bamyan: Abdul Saboor Sighani, spokesman for the Bamyan governor, announced in an interview with AVA that the construction of 10 water supply projects has begun in the Punjab district of Bamyan. These projects were inaugurated in the presence of the Bamyan governor.
Sighani added that these water supply networks will be built in the villages of Zardsang area of Punjab district. The cost of these projects is 22 million, 22 thousand, 425 Afghanis, funded by the World Bank, and the Aga Khan Foundation is responsible for their implementation.
He also stated that with the completion and operation of these projects, 542 families, 11 mosques, two religious schools and four schools will have access to clean drinking water.
At the inauguration ceremony of these projects, Maulvi Abdullah Sarhadi, the governor of Bamyan, while appreciating the funding and implementing institutions, said: The Bamyan local government, by conducting regular trips to different districts, especially remote areas, is trying to identify the problems and needs of the people and address them through development, infrastructure and public benefit projects.
This is while the residents of Punjab district welcomed the attention of the local government to these areas and spoke about problems such as the lack of standard roads, schools and electricity and demanded more cooperation from the government and partner institutions.
