Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Dr. Seyed Rouhollah Hosseini, Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of the Saadi Foundation in Afghanistan, in a meeting with Dr. Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, Head of the Persian Language Academy, in Tehran, reviewed the situation of the Persian language in Afghanistan and presented a report on the latest activities and achievements of literature and poetry.
After listening to Dr. Haddad Adel’s speech, Dr. Hosseini explained the latest status of Iran’s cultural counseling activities in Afghanistan, referring to the extensive capacities of the Persian Language Academy and the Saadi Foundation to strengthen relations between Iran and Afghanistan through the development of the Persian language. He emphasized that the current conditions in Afghanistan should be discussed and examined away from virtual space-building and based on field realities.
The Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan considered the Persian language a valuable opportunity to strengthen relations between the two countries and stated that linguistic similarities are beyond being considered a threat to these relations. He added: “Now, the Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with an opportunistic view of the great capacities between the two nations of Iran and Afghanistan, is undertaking programs within the framework of synchronization and coordination with the government and the people and is trying to implement various programs by creating appropriate platforms to expand relations between the two countries.”
Referring to the Afghan government's stated view on the Persian language, Dr. Hosseini said: "Since Sheikh Haibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate, has also declared that the differences between the people of Afghanistan based on the Persian and Pashto languages are unacceptable, he did not consider pursuing divisive issues in this manner to be in the interest of the Afghan people and declared that the people of this country should look at such issues with a unity-oriented perspective. Accordingly, the Cultural Consultation of the Islamic Republic of Iran has had and continues to have a unity-oriented perspective both between the people of Afghanistan and between the two nations of Iran and Afghanistan." At the end of this meeting, Dr. Haddad Adel, while welcoming the views expressed, emphasized the full readiness of the Persian Language Academy and the Saadi Foundation to make any effort to strengthen cultural and linguistic ties between the two nations of Iran and Afghanistan.
