Afghanistan, Russia to boost cooperation in security and trade issues
The Ministry of Interior said that the acting head of the ministry met with the Russian Special Representative for Afghanistan on security, economic and trade cooperation between Afghanistan and the region and strengthening relations between the two countries.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Afghanistan's Interior Ministry spokesman Mufti Abdul Matin Qane said in a statement that the head of the ministry, Sirajuddin Haqqani, met with Russian President's Special Representative for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov and Russian Ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov.
 
The two sides discussed security, economic and trade cooperation between Afghanistan and the region and strengthening bilateral relations, the interior ministry spokesman said.
 
Sirajuddin Haqqani praised Moscow's recent actions towards Afghanistan and called it an important step towards accepting the political realities of Afghanistan.
 
In addition, both sides pledged to upgrade their relations to the diplomatic level and enhance mutual cooperation in the fields of security and trade.
 
Earlier, Russia's special envoy for Afghanistan met with the acting foreign minister and said that Russia would accept the ambassador of the Islamic Emirate in Moscow.
