WHO calls for end to aid ban in Gaza
The World Health Organization has warned that medical supplies in Gaza are running out and that Israel’s policy of preventing aid from entering the war-torn region must end.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): After the World Food Organization announced that food warehouses in Gaza had been emptied, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, wrote in a message on X: “The situation is the same with medical supplies.

He emphasized: “This blockade on the entry of aid must end. Lives depend on it.”

Israel has completely blocked the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip since (11 Hut 1403).

This action occurred in the continuation of the escalation of clashes with Hamas and after a stalemate in ceasefire negotiations.

Israel had previously imposed a complete blockade on Gaza on October 9, 2023, which included cutting off food, water, medicine, fuel, and electricity.

The blockade was imposed after Hamas launched an operation against the Zionist regime on October 7, 2023, and was widely criticized as “collective punishment” and a “war crime.” Although limited aid was allowed to enter at times, even this limited flow has been stopped since March 2025.

The seven-week ban is the longest closure of Gaza’s crossings in history.

The World Food Program announced that its food supplies in Gaza had run out and 25 bakeries it supports were closed as of March 31.

Food prices have risen by 1,400 percent, and water and fuel shortages have forced people to resort to unsafe methods of survival.

This situation raised concerns about famine and widespread mortality, especially among children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
