Explaining the scientific and political dimensions of Imam Sadiq (AS) in the ceremony of his martyrdom anniversary
Along with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), a commemoration and mourning ceremony was held in the Tabyan Center office in the holy city of Qom with the presence of scholars, students, and a group of Afghan refugees. At this ceremony, Hojjatoleslam Walmuslimin Falah Kamali, explaining the political, social, and ideological situation of the era of Imam Sadiq (AS), while explaining lesser-known aspects of his political life, emphasized the need to carefully reexamine the role of this Imam in creating a Shiite communication network, confronting deviant currents, and wisely confronting political developments such as the uprising of Zaid, Nafs Zakiya, and Abu Muslim Khorasani.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Coinciding with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), a mourning ceremony and commemoration of the scientific and political position of the great Imam was held in the presence of a group of scholars, scholars, students and Afghan refugees at the representative office of the Tabyan Center for Social and Cultural Activities in the holy city of Qom.

In this ceremony, after the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Seyyed Mojtaba Hakimi, Hojjatoleslam Wal-Muslimeen Hajj Falah Kamali delivered a speech.

Citing verses and narrations, he explained the different dimensions of Imam Sadiq (AS)’s personality and said: What comes to the minds of many people when remembering Imam Sadiq (AS) is only his scientific dimension, while he was a comprehensive figure of various dimensions such as spirituality, politics, social management and civilization.

Referring to the sensitivity and complexity of the Imamate of Imam Sadiq (AS), he stated: His Holiness assumed the leadership of the Shia in a situation where the Islamic Caliphate had become a hereditary monarchy after the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and the Umayyads and Abbasids had turned religious goals into a tool for power-seeking by distorting the teachings of Islam.

Referring to the 34-year Imamate of Imam Sadiq (AS), Hojjatoleslam Kamali added: It is not possible to understand the character of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) without a precise understanding of the historical conditions of that period, and understanding the character of those noble people is not possible except by considering the two sources of the Holy Quran and reliable history.

He said: In addition to extensive scientific efforts, Imam Sadiq (AS) also took extensive and fundamental measures in the political and social fields that have received less attention and analysis.

Stating that three important political movements were formed during the Imamate of Imam Sadiq (AS), Hojjatoleslam Kamali said: The uprising of Zayd ibn Ali, the movement of Muhammad ibn Abdullah (Nafs Zakiya), and the movement of Abu Muslim Khorasani were among the most important events of that time, each of which was confronted with specific positions and approaches from Imam Sadiq (AS).

He added: In the uprising of Zayd ibn Ali, the Imam, while respecting the personality of Zayd, advised the people to obey the infallible Imam and observe the boundaries of political insight. Regarding Muhammad Nafs Zakiya, the Imam also rejected his claim of Mahdism and prevented the Shiites from participating in an armed uprising. He also firmly opposed Abu Muslim's proposal to hand over Khorasan and take allegiance in the name of the Imam.

He considered one of the greatest achievements of Imam Sadiq (AS) to be the creation of a vast communication network among Shiites in all parts of the Islamic world, and said: This network, whose foundation had begun in the era of Imam Sajjad (AS), reached its peak during the era of Imam Sadiq (AS) and paved the way for the consolidation of the Shiite school.

He added: This communication structure outlined an early model of Islamic civilization based on wilayah. A model that, according to Hojjatoleslam Kamali, if referred to in the present era, can transcend geographical borders and lead the Islamic nation to true unity and authority.

Hojjatoleslam Kamali considered Imam Sadiq (AS)’s serious confrontation with heresies and those claiming to be religious extremists as another sensitive area of his struggle, and said: The Imam, with complete insight, prevented the distortion of religion and, by taking a firm stance, rejected extremist movements that sought to instill false beliefs about the Ahlul Bayt (AS).

The ceremony ended with Sayyid Abdullah Hosseini's Karbala eulogy, lamenting the martyrdom of Imam Sadiq (AS) and mentioning the calamity of the infallible and pure Ahlul Bayt (AS).
