Massive explosion in Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Port; Heavy damage and critical situation
A massive and widespread explosion has occurred in Shahid Rajaee Port, one of Iran’s most important commercial ports in the city of Bandar Abbas. According to reports, the explosion started in a fuel tank north of the Shahid Rajaee pier and caused extensive damage to life and property.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to local media, the blast wave was so strong that an office building in the port was completely destroyed and a large number of vehicles in the area were crushed. A number of port employees were also injured, but the exact number of casualties and injuries has not been officially announced yet.

Local authorities in Hormozgan said that the main cause of the accident is still unknown and that rapid response, rescue and security teams have been dispatched to the site. Port activities have been temporarily suspended and the situation at Shahid Rajaee Port has been reported to be critical.

Iran's Crisis Management Headquarters has issued a state of emergency in all Bandar Abbas hospitals following the blast.

Images posted on social media showed huge plumes of black smoke rising into the sky from the site of the blast, sparking public panic. Local journalists reported that many port workers were still in shock.
