Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The explosion at noon on Saturday in Iran's Shahid Rajaee Port led to a severe fire. The Chief Justice of Hormozgan said: One of the dimensions of the explosion incident in Shahid Rajaee Port is the issue of identifying and identifying the victims.
According to him, 21 bodies of the deceased in the incident have been handed over to the provincial forensic medicine so far, and 4 bodies are being transferred to the forensic medicine.
He said that the number of deceased in the incident has reached 25 and that judicial orders have been issued to hand over the bodies to the families. So far, the bodies of 10 of the deceased have been identified, including 2 women and 8 men.
Issuing the fourth announcement regarding the explosion in Shahid Rajaee Port in Hormozgan, Iran’s Crisis Management Organization announced: Firefighting operations are continuing in Shahid Rajaee Port, and so far 80 percent of the operations have been completed, and the spotting work will be completed in the coming hours with the presence of the air fleet and the efforts of firefighters.
Iranian Customs has also announced that customs procedures for full-load and foreign transit, exports and imports have resumed at Shahid Rajaee Customs.
Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni is in Bandar Abbas on behalf of the country’s president and is supervising the relief efforts and expert assessments. The Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Head of the Ports and Maritime Organization have also been deployed to the region to monitor the critical situation and coordinate relief operations.
Emphasizing the need to clarify the causes of the explosion as soon as possible, the Iranian President called for preventive measures to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. He also ordered that immediate measures be taken to provide assistance to the injured, with priority being given to sending medical equipment and relief forces to the region.
Based on the order of the Iranian President, all government and relief institutions have been instructed to use all necessary resources and facilities in full coordination to mitigate the consequences of this incident. In addition, the Minister of Interior has also been instructed to follow up on the necessary management measures to control the crisis, ensure regional security, and expedite the reconstruction and reopening of Shahid Rajaee Port, given the current situation.
Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, who was at the scene last night and expressed his sympathy for the families of the victims, said: "From the beginning, in addition to relief, rescue, and firefighting operations, we also paid attention to pathology and investigation of the causes of the accident. Specialized teams are closely investigating the matter, and those who have failed will be dealt with legally without any favoritism."
Referring to the difficult conditions of the firefighting operations due to strong winds and their changing direction, he added: "Firefighters and rescue forces are controlling the main source of the fire with great capability and experience, and we hope that this source will be completely controlled in the coming hours."
Emphasizing the relative stability in the main areas of the port, Momeni noted that the port and customs systems were not damaged and that loading, clearance, and customs operations are continuing as usual.
He stated: “Preventive preparations were taken from the beginning for customs and port operations, which helped preserve the infrastructure.”
“Gholamreza Nouri Qeziljeh,” the Minister of Agricultural Jihad of Iran, announced: Following the explosion in Shahid Rajaee Port, ships carrying essential goods have been directed to Imam Khomeini Port.
The Iranian Minister of Interior urged citizens not to pay attention to rumors and assured that any new information about the incident would be made available to the public in a transparent and official manner.
Following the explosion and widespread fire in Shahid Rajaee Port, the Governor of Hormozgan announced three days of public mourning in the province starting today.
On the other hand, Jalal Maleki, spokesman for the Tehran Municipality Fire Department, announced in an interview with Mehr that the firefighting operation had reached its final stages.
He stated: "At around 3 am, 30 Tehran firefighters arrived in Bandar Abbas and immediately deployed to the scene of the incident under the command of the organization's CEO."
Maleki added: "In the first stage, firefighters used hydrocarbon pipes to bring water to the scene of the incident. Firefighting teams are currently carrying out operations and we will soon witness the complete extinguishing of the fire and entering the spotting stage."
