Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the Public Relations Department of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions, Dr. Shahriari, who was present at the Zagreb Islamic Center, strongly condemned the killing of the oppressed people of Gaza and emphasized the need to confront oppression and provide practical support to the oppressed.
Citing the Quranic teachings on human dignity, honor and security, he stated: God has bestowed dignity on man from Himself, and for this reason, man enjoys a high status and is considered God’s representative on earth. According to Dr. Shahriari, no human being is allowed to deprive another person of their life or right to reside, and all humans have the right to live in security and comfort.
Referring to the situation of the people of Gaza, the Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions added: Today we witness that the dignity and security of Palestinians are being openly trampled upon, and they are being killed and displaced before the indifferent eyes of the world.
He continued: The Quran has introduced oppression as one of the greatest sins and has even condemned the sin of polytheism as oppression against God. The Holy Quran repeatedly emphasizes the necessity of establishing justice for all and considers the deprivation of human rights by force to be a clear example of oppression.
Emphasizing the inherent right of man to life, Dr. Shahriari noted: No one is allowed to deprive another of his right to life. The question is: What sin have the innocent children of Gaza committed that they should be victims of this oppression? Just as in previous years, the innocent people of Srebrenica in Bosnia and the Balkan region were victims of genocide.
Continuing his speech, he emphasized the duty of everyone to support the oppressed and said: The first step is heartfelt sympathy for the oppressed, and this sympathy must lead to action. Every person, regardless of their position, job, or social status, must be diligent to the extent of their ability and capacity in reducing the suffering of the oppressed and confronting oppression, and take advantage of every material or spiritual possibility in this direction.
Dr. Shahriari concluded by stating: Silence is not permissible in the face of oppression, and Muslims must fulfill their responsibility properly.
