Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The visit is said to be aimed at "strengthening strategic partnership" between the two countries and coincides with the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. Xi Jinping will attend the ceremony alongside Russian leaders.
China's Foreign Ministry has said that the visit is expected to help deepen political mutual trust between Beijing and Moscow and further strengthen their strategic partnership. The high-level talks will focus on expanding comprehensive bilateral relations and addressing key international and regional issues.
The Kremlin has also announced that Xi Jinping will hold talks with Vladimir Putin on the development of China-Russia strategic cooperation and sign a number of documents during the visit. According to the Kremlin statement, “During the talks, the main issues of further development of comprehensive partnership relations and strategic interaction, as well as current issues on the international and regional agenda, will be discussed.”
According to Reuters, several heads of state, including the president of Brazil and the prime minister of Slovakia, are expected to attend the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany.
