Refugee settlement to open in Paktia soon
The Ministry of Refugees and Returnees Affairs says that during a meeting, the governor of Paktia province informed the acting minister of the completion of the refugee settlement and its opening in the near future, and also requested assistance in reconstructing the houses of the needy in the province.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees Affairs today (Monday, May 5) issued a press release announcing the meeting and discussion between Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the acting minister of the ministry, and Maulvi Mehrullah Hamad, the governor of Paktia province.

The ministry says that Maulvi Hamad informed Maulvi Abdul Kabir about the progress of the Paktia refugee settlement, adding that the work on the settlement has been completed and will be inaugurated in the near future.

Mehrullah Hamad also mentioned helping refugees in the province and providing necessary facilities in temporary camps, and suggested that some of the poor be helped to reconstruct their houses.

Meanwhile, Maulvi Abdul Kabir appreciated the efforts of the Islamic Emirate authorities in helping Afghan refugees and providing them with facilities, adding that distributing land for the establishment of settlements will solve many of the refugees’ problems.

He said that the Islamic Emirate has initiated efforts to rebuild settlements for refugees. He also called on the partner aid institutions and foundations to cooperate with the Islamic Emirate in this regard.
