Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad at the head of a high-ranking delegation and met with senior Pakistani officials, including the Prime Minister and Iranian Foreign Minister.
Referring to the three main goals of his trip, he said: "My trip to Pakistan today has three main goals: one is to review the latest situation in the region and what has happened between India and Pakistan."
Emphasizing Iran's friendly relations with both countries and its neighborliness and brotherhood with Pakistan, the Iranian Foreign Minister added: "I was interested in being informed about the positions of friends in Pakistan before my trip to India."
The head of the Iranian diplomatic service stated that the second goal of this trip is to "explain to Pakistani friends about the latest status of indirect talks between Iran and the United States."
Araqchi, explaining the third goal, said: "The third goal is to review bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan. We have several issues in the political, economic and cultural fields that we reviewed today and will review in future meetings, God willing."
This is the second visit of Seyyed Abbas Araqchi as Iranian Foreign Minister to Pakistan after assuming this post. According to the announcement of Ismail Baghai, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, the country's Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit India on Thursday of this week to participate in a meeting of the two countries' Joint Economic Commission.
