Afghan and Pakistani Foreign Ministers Hold Telephone Conversation; Agreement on Facilitating Transit and Removing Obstacles
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the head of the ministry, and Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, exchanged views on various issues, including bilateral relations, issues related to the transit of goods, the general situation of the region, and recent tensions between Pakistan and India, in a telephone conversation.

It was said that one of the important results of this call was the decision to release transit goods of Afghan traders that were stopped at the ports of Karachi and Wagah. Also, the two sides agreed to make joint efforts to remove obstacles on transit routes.
 
The press release added that in addition, the foreign ministers of Afghanistan and Pakistan emphasized the need for high-level contacts and exchange of delegations between the two countries and called for strengthening and developing bilateral relations in various fields.
 
On the other hand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan announced that Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of that country, had a telephone conversation with Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, about bilateral relations and regional developments.
 
In this conversation, the Pakistani Foreign Minister also shared India's recent actions with Mr. Muttaqi and added that Islamabad is committed to peace and will defend its national sovereignty.
 
The press release of the Ministry of Finance of Pakistan added that the Afghan Foreign Minister, while appreciating Pakistan's positive steps in facilitating trade, has invited Mr. Dar to visit Kabul again.
 
Pakistan has informed Afghanistan of India's increasing threats, even though Pakistani officials have already contacted Iran, Russia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and some other countries and are trying to prevent a possible Indian attack through diplomatic channels.
