Distribution of non-food items to about 1,500 needy families in Samangan and Nangarhar provinces
The Ministry of Refugees Affairs and the National Disaster Management Authority say that they have distributed non-food items to about 1,500 needy families in Samangan and Nangarhar provinces.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees Affairs issued a press release today (Thursday, May 8) saying that the distribution of non-food items to 756 displaced and needy families in Samangan province has begun.
 
According to the press release, the aid includes a kitchen set, two blankets, two tarpaulins, and two barrels of water from the ministry’s partner organization, which the families will receive within a few days.
 
Another press release from the National Disaster Management Authority said that the Disaster Preparedness Directorate of Nangarhar province, with financial support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), has distributed hygiene and water packages to 739 needy families in Achin district of the province after a survey.
 
According to the press release, in this process, which was held in the presence of local officials, each family was distributed eight bars of handwashing soap, two shampoos, one bucket of water, two toothpastes, two water barrels, two ablution lamps, three packs of chlorine tablets, two bags, eight bars of laundry soap, and one water purification cloth.
 
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Refugees and the National Disaster Management Authority had previously distributed non-food aid in some provinces of the country.
