Bekdeli consults with Azizi on Iranian Minister of Industry and Trade’s visit to Afghanistan

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in this meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on the visit of the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade to Afghanistan hosted by Mr. Azizi, holding the seventh joint commission for economic cooperation and the preferential trade agreement between the two countries, increasing Afghan exports, increasing the activity and role of the joint chamber, forming a joint investment committee, the interest of Iranian companies to participate in the Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) exhibition, holding a joint exhibition and industrial tours for Afghan industrial companies in Iran, implementing the electronic TIR system, forming an arbitration chamber, increasing industrial and trade cooperation, establishing joint industrial companies, establishing a joint free industrial zone at border points, holding a trilateral meeting between Afghanistan, Iran and India on Chabahar Port, starting work on the Farah-Mil 78 road, investing in the Khaf-Herat railway, and increasing trade via the Mahi Rud route.

 

This is while last month, the Iranian Embassy in Kabul announced in a press release that Seyyed Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran, had announced his upcoming visit to Afghanistan in a meeting with Alireza Bekdali, the country's ambassador to Kabul. The Iranian Embassy added that this visit will be carried out in order to expand bilateral relations and explore joint investment opportunities and economic cooperation between Tehran and Kabul.
