New Round of Iran-US Nuclear Talks; Sunday in Oman
The American website Axios reported that the fourth round of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States is scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 11, in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The talks are taking place while tensions between the two countries continue and, at the same time, differences between Washington and Tel Aviv regarding how to interact with Iran and regional developments have intensified. Donald Trump's visit to the region will also begin on Monday, May 12. The Iranian Foreign Minister will also visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Saturday, May 10.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: In these talks, Abbas Araqchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will head the Iranian delegation, while the American delegation will be led by Steve Witkoff, the White House special representative.

Axios continued its report by stating that the talks are taking place in a situation where US President Donald Trump met privately with Ron Dermer, the Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs and a close confidant of Benjamin Netanyahu, at the White House on Thursday, May 8, and discussed the issue of Iran. Sources familiar with the matter told this American website that the meeting was related to Tel Aviv's concerns about Trump's diplomatic approach towards Iran.
According to the Axios report, Trump emphasized in the meeting that he is trying to reach an agreement with Iran without using military force, a position that contradicts Netanyahu's approach, which calls for considering a military option.
The differences between Washington and Tel Aviv have intensified after the Trump administration's decision to suddenly declare a ceasefire with the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen. The agreement, which was announced unexpectedly, drew reactions from Israeli officials, as they were not informed of the decision before the official announcement.

Meanwhile, negotiations to reach a ceasefire in Gaza are continuing. Israel has announced that it has set the end of Trump's visit to the region as a deadline for reaching an agreement in Gaza. If there is no agreement, it has threatened a large-scale operation to completely occupy the Gaza Strip. US representatives, with the mediation of Qatar and Egypt, are trying to convince Hamas to release a number of hostages in exchange for a temporary ceasefire, but Hamas continues to insist on the condition of a complete end to the war for the release of all prisoners.

At the same time as these developments, Trump will begin his trip to the region on Monday, May 12. He will visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE during this trip.

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has also announced that Foreign Minister Araqchi will visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Saturday this week. He will meet with Saudi officials in Riyadh and then participate in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue Forum in Doha.
