Russia will always remain a strong barrier against Nazism and distortion of history

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: In his speech, Putin, referring to the Allied victory in World War II, appreciated the efforts of the resistance forces, the Soviet Army, the Chinese people, and other allies in defeating fascism. He said: "I thank the efforts of the Allied forces, resistance movements, and the Chinese people, all those who fought for a peaceful future."

 

In another part of his speech, he linked Russia’s current military operation in Ukraine with Russia’s historical past, saying: “Russian society supports the participants in special military operations, just as today our Motherland feels the joy of victory over Nazi Germany and Japan in 1945.”

Putin stressed that Russia has always stood and will stand against Nazism, Russophobia and anti-Semitism, in the past and now. He added: “We will continue to fight the crimes of those who promote these destructive ideologies. Truth and justice are on our side.”

 

The Russian president also pointed to the importance of preserving historical memory, saying: “We remember the lessons of World War II and will never allow the crimes of that era to be repeated. Like our ancestors, we celebrate this day as the most important national event.”

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, more than 11,500 servicemen from the country's military, including members of the Federal Security Service, the Emergencies Ministry and the National Guard, took part in this year's military parade. Battalions from 13 countries, including China, Belarus, Vietnam, Egypt, Kazakhstan and North Korea, also marched in Moscow's Red Square.

Veterans from the United States, Armenia, Mongolia and other countries also attended the ceremony as guests of honor.

 

Putin concluded by referring to the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping at the ceremony, paying special tribute to the Chinese people, calling them a "brave people."

 

He also warned that Russia would not allow the history of World War II to be distorted and stressed that it would defend the dignity and prestige of its army against such attempts.
