Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: In his latest statement regarding the nuclear talks and the lifting of sanctions, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said: "The time and place of the talks will be determined by the host country, which is Oman. Omani friends asked us about Sunday and we expressed our agreement. Apparently, they have also spoken with the other side, and so far, the talks are scheduled to be held on Sunday. We are waiting for coordination from the Omani side regarding the start time of the talks."
Negotiations on the way forward
According to Shahraranews, the Iranian Foreign Minister, referring to the progress of the negotiations, stated: "In any case, the negotiations are moving forward, and it is natural that the further we go, the more consultations we need, the more studies we need, and the delegations need more time to review the issues raised. But the important thing is that we are moving forward in a way that we can gradually get into the details."
Contradictory messages from the American side
Criticizing the emotional behavior and contradictory messages from the American side, Araqchi said: "Our positions in the negotiations are principled positions and have their own basis; therefore, they are unchangeable and we are moving in the direction of the principles that have been designed, but you are right, we are receiving contradictory messages from the other side. Different people say different things. Sometimes, even the words that one person said contradict their own words the same day or the next day. This is one of the problems of the work. Some believe that it is because the new government in America has taken office and that they have not yet settled in or have not yet designed their positions properly. Some attribute it to negotiation tricks. In our opinion, whatever it is, it does not matter and we are following our path and our positions are completely clear. We stand firm on our positions, wherever the interests of the Iranian people are secured, we move forward and wherever the interests are not secured, we stand firm. We are not too caught up in these contradictory and contradictory statements and we are moving forward on our path.”
Regional Consultations in Trip to Saudi Arabia and Qatar
The Iranian Foreign Minister, referring to his trip to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, stated that the purpose of this trip is regional consultations on regional negotiations and issues: “My trip is to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. In Saudi Arabia, the discussion is continuing the consultations that we have on regional issues, as well as the indirect negotiations that are underway with the United States. In these negotiations, we have had continuous consultations and constant information to the countries of the region from the beginning; because we think that the sustainability of any possible agreement depends to a large extent on the consideration of the countries of the region, their concerns, and the common interests that exist between Iran and them in this nuclear area. In any case, the concerns that they have and the common interests that exist between us and them. I think that keeping them informed regularly is a positive step that we have taken from the beginning and has had good effects, and fortunately, the countries of the region have also shown good support for these negotiations. In this regard, tomorrow I will go to Saudi Arabia in the morning and will have meetings there. After Saudi Arabia, I will go to Qatar in the afternoon or evening. In Qatar, there is an Iran-Arab dialogue conference, which is being held between the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations from Iran and the Al Jazeera Center for Studies from Qatar. This is the fourth round, and I played a role in holding the previous three rounds when I was on the council. I will speak at the opening of this conference. This is a very important conference that aims to create greater understanding between Iran and Arab countries, and in previous sessions we have had good discussions at this conference, and it is very important that the two sides are aware of each other's views and concerns and common areas of cooperation, and this will lead to greater understanding of each other and a reduction in differences, and as a result, less tension in relations between the countries of the region.”
It is worth noting that the fourth round of indirect Iran-US talks will be held tomorrow in Oman.
