Araghchi: We had one of the most professional rounds of negotiations in Rome/Baqai: The time and place of the next round of negotiations will be announced
At the end of the fifth round of indirect Tehran-Washington talks in Rome, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated that we had completed “one of the most professional rounds of negotiations,” and said: Our positions are clear and we stand by them. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also wrote in an article: The time and place of the next round of negotiations will be determined and announced later.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-International Service: Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, provided explanations in this regard on Friday at the end of the fifth round of indirect Tehran-Washington talks in Rome.

Araghchi said that this round of negotiations was “one of the most professional rounds of negotiations,” and added: We once again stated the positions and principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the negotiations. Our positions are clear and we stand by them. Now we think that there is a better and clearer understanding of these positions on the American side.

He continued: “During this round of negotiations, the Omani Foreign Minister tried to propose solutions that would remove existing obstacles and make progress. Within this framework, ideas were proposed and it was agreed that more expert work would be done by both sides on the ideas and they would be transferred to the capitals; without any obligation for either side at this time. Our goal is to examine these new solutions and proposals that could possibly pave the way while preserving the principles and positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister said: “The two sides are supposed to present their views on these proposals and solutions, and then the next round of negotiations will be organized and implemented. I hope that in the next round, if these solutions are considered in the capitals, we will be able to go into some details.”

He also stated in another part of his speech to reporters at the end of the fifth round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States that "the negotiations are too complicated to be completed in two or three sessions." He said: "The fact that we are now on a reasonable path in these talks is progress in itself, and we hope that in the next one or two sessions, given the better understanding of Iran's positions on the other side, we will be able to reach solutions that can be progressed in the talks."

Araqchi concluded by saying: "We are not at that stage yet, but we are not disappointed either, and given the discussions that took place today and the solutions proposed by Oman to remove obstacles, there is a possibility of progress."

Moments after media sources reported the end of the fifth round of Iran-US talks, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaid wrote on the social network "X": "The fifth round of Iran-US talks ended today in Rome with progress, although not definitive."

He added: “We hope that in the coming days the remaining issues will be clarified so that we can move towards the common goal of achieving a lasting and honorable agreement.”

The fifth round of Iran-US talks began at 3:00 PM Tehran time today at the residence of the Omani ambassador in Italy and lasted more than three hours.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman wrote: The time and place of the next round of talks will be determined and announced later.

“Esmail Baghaei,” spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, wrote on the X social network: The fifth round of Iran-US indirect talks in Rome has ended. In this round, Iran’s principled positions were once again explained clearly and clearly. The talks were held in a calm and professional atmosphere.

He continued: The Omani Foreign Minister had proposed solutions and ideas to overcome obstacles, the outlines and axes of which were examined in this round.

The Iranian diplomatic spokesman stated: "It was agreed that, in parallel with further consideration in the capitals, the Omani Foreign Minister would continue working on the details of the proposed ideas and provide them to both sides for further consideration. The time and place of the next round of negotiations will be determined and announced later."
