Tourists in Herat Increase; People Demand Improved Infrastructure and Environmental Protection
With the significant increase in the number of tourists visiting historical and recreational sites in Herat province, especially in remote areas, the people of this region are demanding improved infrastructure and serious environmental protection. Tourists are particularly interested in green areas and historical sites in Herat, which has raised concerns about the preservation and sustainability of these natural and cultural resources.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: The people of Herat are calling on the government to organize green areas and address problems such as road damage and illegal tree cutting, in order to attract more tourists.

Basir Ahmad, a resident of Herat, says: "The government should organize green and scenic areas and provide more opportunities to attract tourists. Road damage and tree cutting are problems that need to be addressed." He emphasizes that despite the extensive green areas in the districts, road damage has caused people to visit these areas less often.

Ghafur, another resident of Herat, also believes: "Herat's scenic attractions, some of which also include historical attractions, are a good source of attracting tourists and generating income. Regulating these areas and building roads can make a valuable contribution to the region's economy."

The Culture Department's actions and the importance of the Healing Spring
Among them, the Healing Spring, located 100 kilometers east of Herat city, is a popular tourist destination with its fascinating and healing stories. However, the facilities in these recreational areas are relatively low and people are demanding more attention from the government.

Maulvi Hamidullah Ghiasi, head of culture at the Herat Information and Culture Department, has announced that the Culture Department, in cooperation with international institutions and using government funds, has renovated many scenic and historical areas and made them ready for tourists. He says: "We emphasize focusing on historical and recreational areas so that we can strengthen the tourism industry."

Local activists believe that taking care of these places and protecting the environment can help the sustainable growth of the tourism industry in Herat. Given the presence of dozens of attractive recreational and historical sites in this area, it is hoped that the necessary measures will be taken to preserve these valuable resources.
